Africa is the youngest continent in the world, with over 400 million youth under 35. In Kenya and the wider East African Community (EAC), more than 65% of the population is youth, yet opportunities remain scarce, and unemployment continues to rise. In Kenya alone, over 1 million young people enter the job market every year, but only a fraction secure formal employment; leaving the majority struggling to survive in informal or vulnerable work. Every year, millions graduate with dreams and ideas but no opportunities or resources to make them real. If nothing changes, this crisis will only deepen. That’s why we, the youth, are stepping up to do things differently.

The Mindmoja Innovation Fund is a youth-led initiative, driven entirely by visionary young leaders who believe in creating opportunities for their own generation. Our vision is bold: with contributions of just Ksh 50 or Ksh 100, we will build Africa’s first youth-driven Innovation & Prototyping Center; a Launchpad for ideas that can create jobs and transform communities.

This groundbreaking center with HQ in Kenya will be fully equipped with the latest tools such as:

• 3D Printers – to rapidly turn ideas into prototypes.
• Robotics & AI Development Kits – preparing youth for the future of work.
• IoT & Electronics Labs – enabling the creation of smart solutions.
• CNC Machines & Laser Cutters – for industrial design and precision manufacturing
• AR/VR Labs – for innovation in gaming, education, and design.
• Mindmoja Innovation Team – team of engineers, designers, and developers facilitating founders with technical expertise.

This innovation lab will be the Launchpad for African startups, a space where African youth can design, prototype, and scale solutions that tackle unemployment, poverty, and community challenges. The goal is to enable the design and development of 1000 startups every year. And here’s the best part: you don’t need to be a tech expert to innovate. Our diverse team of engineers, designers, and developers will work hand-in-hand with non-technical founders, so all you need is an idea, and Mindmoja’s Innovation Team will design and build the product with you.

Beyond the lab, your contributions will also fund:
